Solgar proudly introduces AC-11 Vegetable Capsules. Each capsule provides 350 mg of AC-11, a proprietary patented water soluble extract of Unicaria tomentosa, for enhanced DNA protection and repair.

It is commonly accepted among scientists that biological aging is a direct consequence of accumlated free radical injury. While the body is naturally equipped to neutralize and dispose of free radicals, its antioxidant defenses can become overwhelmed by environmental insults and age. Left unchecked, oxidative stress can harm vulnerable DNA, which can have serious negative health consequences.

Uncaria tomentosa has been used as a healing plant by the native Indians of South America for over 2000 years. Unlike other such ingredients, AC-11 is prepared according to the traditional method of hot water extraction, which concentrates active ingredients called carboxy alkyl esters. Additionally, AC-11 is subjected to molecular ultra-filitration, which removes large insoluble checmical conjugates, eliminating irritating alkaloids and increasing bioavailability. Lastly, it is harvested in an environmentally stable way. Clinical trials performed on AC-11 have shown it enhances DNA repair, increases white blood cell counts which promotes healthy immunity, and supports a healthy response to inflammation.
