Badger proudly presents the most extraordinary sunblocks we've ever seen. Our SPF formula is water resistant for up to 40 minutes, safe for children of all ages, thoroughly moisturizes while it protects and is reminiscent of a holiday luau. This is a 100% natural, chemical-free, physical barrier sunblock. Since the inception of this steamy, dreamy potion, previously sun-shy Badgers have been sighted belly up on the most luxurious beaches around the world. Meet you at the beach!
An SPF rating tells only half the story. It actually tells you how many times longer you can stay in the sun with SPF protection vs. without, before getting burned. This is primarily a function of the product's ability to filter out UVB radiation. (We'll tell you about UVA radiation later!) So if your skin would start to turn ""pink"" after ten minutes of noon time sun, SPF 15 would give you 150 minutes of protection. Almost three hours! Re-application will further increase the amount of time you can stay in the sun, although how much longer is hard to predict with any sun protection product. By the way, Badger's new Sunblock has been successfully tested to be waterproof for 40 minutes which means it stays on your skin and stays protective after 40 min in the water. That's amazing!
The sunlight striking your skin is composed of both UVB and UVA radiation. UVA is the wavelength of sun light that is said to penetrate deeper into the skin without causing surface burning. UVA however, has the potential to release free-radicals and cause skin melanoma. So you should always choose sun protection that is ""broad spectrum"" which means it blocks both UVB and UVA wave lengths. Our SPF 15 Sunblock is broad spectrum: strong enough to prevent burning for a reasonable length of time and it has the power to block UVA radiation to an extent that many higher SPF products cannot match! This is due to our unique combination of Zinc, with naturally protective oils and butters like Shea, Cocoa, Jojoba and extra Virgin Olive. We also add Sea Buckthorn Berry Extract, a natural cell restorative. Sharp and pungent in scent, this brilliant orange oil has remarkable cell rebuilding and restorative properties. High in unsaturated essential fatty acids, it helps to maintain healthy skin and is an effective treatment of burns, sunburns and general wounds.
