Fruit Enzyme Scrub (FES) - FAQ
Q. How often can I use the FES?
A. It is gentle enough to be used everyday, although I like to recommend using one of our peels and alternating the use of them.
Q. What are jojoba beads?
A. Jojoba beads are made from jojoba wax. They are gentle little round beads used in finer scrubs to gently, yet effectively provide a scrubbing effect to buff the skin. While putting pressure on these beads they also leave behind a protective oil, very similar to our own sebum. You must use to really appreciate.
Q. What is the best way to use the FES?
A. Just before entering the shower apply to face, leave on face while getting the water temp just right and enter the shower. This allows the fruit enzymes to get activated and start working on softening the dead skin cells on your skin. After washing hair and body, start massaging your skin on your face in a circular motion. Face the stream of water and rinse thoroughly keeping your eyes closed until rinsing is complete. Your skin will feel renewed and squeaky clean.
Q. I have dry skin, can I use the FES?
A. You sure can. Remember, even if you were to choose the Cranberry Cleanser designed for acne /problem skin, you should always follow with the Fruit Enzyme Mist that provides a transition from more acidic formulas to more neutral. Then you should always follow with your favorite, age appropriate nourishing cream.
Q. What are scrub beads?
A. They are tiny polyethylene round polished severs, specifically produced for the cosmetic and toiletry industry to be gentle and non-abrasive. Since they are perfect, round, polished severs, they support and work synergistically with the polishing effect of the jojoba beads without ever abrading or chafing your skin.

aqua: Distilled water.
caprylic/capric triglycerides: Emollient, has good spreading properties, promotes penetration and pigment dispersions. From coconut oil.
behenyl alcohol: A mixture of fatty alcohols acting as a binder, emulsion stabilizer, thickener and emulsifier. From vegetable oil.
hamamelis: AKA witch hazel. Anti-inflammatory, wound healing, anti-itching, softening, with emollient properties that soothe irritated skin. Found to be effective against free radicals. From the leaves and bark of the plant.
glycerin: A humectant and emollient from plants. It absorbs moisture from the air, and helps keep moisture in creams and other products.
dicapryl ether: A skin conditioner and emollient from plants.
sucrose stearate: A combination of sucrose and stearic acid. Stearic acid occurs naturally in butter acids, and cascarilla bark. Acts as a lubricant.
amino acid surfactants: Helps water penetrate the skin. Amino Acids are the body’s building blocks of protein.
jojoba beads: Exfoliating beads that loosen and lift away dead skin cells without damaging skin. From the jojoba plant.
scrub beads: Smooth, round polyethylene beads help loosen and lift away dead skin cells without damaging skin.
zeolite: Crystalline hydrated silicates from volcanoes. Molecular cages trap and remove heavy metal pollutants, makeup and dirt. Crystalline hydrated silicates ‘trap’ heavy metal pollutants.
fruit enzymes: Skin refining properties. Protein (keratin) digesting enzymes that have the ability to digest dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, revealing a smooth, fresh appearance.
L-castor oil methyl glycol: An emollient from castor oil beans.
butcher’s broom extract: Increases circulation and inhibits inflammation. From a shrub native to Europe.
sea weed extract: Iodine and sulfur amino acid content stimulate anti-inflammatory and disinfectant abilities while moisturizing properties are attributed to its ability to react with protein and form a protective gel on the skin’s surface.
lemongrass essential oil: Essential oil from lemongrass with purifying , refreshing, and hydrating effects.
hydrocotyl: AKA gotu kola or Indian pennywort, also called the longevity plant due to its ability to speed cellular renewal. From India.
D-panthenol: Part of the water-soluble vitamin B complex (B-5). Acts as a penetrating moisturizer.
calendula: Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant commonly used to treat problem and acne skin. From the marigold flower.
hydrolized yeast protein: Helps regulate sebum production. Revitalizes skin’s moisture and reduces facial lines.
horse chestnut: Firming, calming, redness-reducing effects on the skin.
licorice: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, skin lightener.
Suggested Use:
Apply to cleansed skin with fingertips, using light pressure in circular motion. Leave on skin for one minute to allow fruit enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water, tone, nourish and protect. Use every other day.
For intensified results or use: apply to skin and let sit for one or two minutes, then gently using light pressure, massage skin. Try allowing the Fruit Enzyme Scrub to remain on the skin longer; more dead skin cells will be dissolved.
Fruit Enzyme Scrub is excellent for the cuticles and hands. A little bit goes a long way. Massage the cuticles. The Fruit Enzymes and Lemongrass essential oils help slough and dissolve the cuticles on fingers and toes. Using it on the hands softens the hands and preps them for MyChelle Hand Cream. Try it on elbows and knees! Great to treat your loved one in the shower for a great back and shoulder exfoliation.
